Motta re-elected CICB President

The Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) held its annual Board of Directors elections on January 30, for the 2014-15 period. Roberto Motta da Silva, President of JBS Couros and the CICB President for 2012-13, was re-elected.
The re-election comes as the Brazilian leather sector’s positioning as an industry with high standards and with the objective of continuously improving a sustainable production and increasing its market share in the domestic and international markets. In 2013, Brazil exported tanned, crust and finished leather worth more than US$2.51 billion, a record amount. This represents a growth of 20.8% in comparison to the previous year.
The elected CICB Board of Directors for 2014-15 is as follows:

- Second vice president: Emilio Bittar (Coming Ind. e Com. de Couros)
- Vice president of Technology: Marcelo Seleme (Viposa)

- Vice president of Domestic Market: Umberto Cilião Sacchelli (Apucarana Leather)
- Vice president of Feedstock and Products: Iedo Fuga (Fuga Couros)
- Vice president of Marketing and Trade Promotion: Edson Vanzella Pereira de Souza (Vancouros Comércio de Couros)
- Vice president of Strategic Management: Evandro Luis Durli (Durli Couros Ind. e Com. de Couros Exp. e Imp)
- Vice president of Foreign Trade: Augusto Sampaio de Souza Coelho (Curtume Moderno)
