The one-day congress boosts an impressive line-up of speakers with key presenters from global brands and retailers such as VF Corp, JD.com and Belle who gave a customer’s viewpoint on the market and where leather fits.
In his opening congress presentation, Luca Boltri, Vice Director and Head of the Economic Department, UNIC (Italian Tanners’ Association) said there were several key issues facing the leather industry in the future are declining raw material quality, chemical transparency, value leather against synthetics, leather segmentation and sustainability.
The 3rd Congress is co-organised by Taiwanese International Leather Association (TILA), which, through Richard Pai, currently holds the Presidency of International Council of Tanners (ICT), and by China Leather Industry Association (CLIA). Members of ICT are tanneries representing 37 Countries from Europe, America, Asia and Africa.
