The high-end footwear brand has launched a new online customised shoe service enabling customers to create their own leather boots.
The Autumn collection includes three different types of knee-high boots, a thigh-high pair, a mid-calf stiletto, a pointed-toes ankle boot and a scrunch boot. Customers can customise each shoe with up to 14 different colours and materials such as navy suede, white stretch leather, burgundy stretch velvet and red leather. Orders must be placed before September 10 and deliveries can take up to 12 weeks.
Stuart Weitzman first started offering customisation services three years ago offering customers to create their own ‘Highland Boot’. However, the new service is said to represent the company’s largest customisation selection to date.
Speaking at the third World Leather Congress earlier this week in Shanghai, China, leather marketing specialist and ILM columnist, Dr Mike Redwood discussed the power of Internet and e-commerce, and how they work their way through the leather industry. “The need for speed comes through to the tanneries who must recognise that production of products such as footwear will be made and shipped to customers on a super rapid basis”, he said.
