German Tanners' school to celebrate 125 years

The German Tanners' school and leather technical and research centre, FILK (Forschungsinstitut für Leder und Kunststoffbahnen) will be celebrating its 125th anniversary with an event in Freiberg later this year.

FILK will host a two-hour official ceremony celebrating 125 years on May 9 and at the ceremony they will also open a new laboratory and communication complex. FILK was the first German Tanners' school, which was founded in 1889 in Freiberg.

The official ceremony will be attended by a number civil dignitaries and invited guests from the leather industry and will be followed by a social evening in a marquee.
