The 2018 Leather & Sustainability in Retail Conference 2018 is taking place in Central London on November 15 and will highlight sustainable raw materials. The hot topic of sustainable chemical management through the leather supply chain will be presented by Dr Christina Raab, Implementation Director, ZDHC during the half-day event.
This year’s Leather & Sustainability in Retail Conference will take place during the afternoon of November 15 at One Great George Street, Westminster, London, UK.
The ZDHC Foundation oversees implementation of the Roadmap to Zero Programme and is a global industry collaboration of currently 111 contributors (25 brands, 70 value chain affiliates, and 16 associates) within the sports, fashion, luxury and outdoor industry.
Dr Raab’s presentation titled; “Collective approaches to scalable innovations in the leather industry”, will showcase how collaborative efforts on sustainable chemical management can accelerate and scale innovations in leather supply chains. The speaker will also introduce and call for action on innovation projects in the leather industry that help reduce the environmental footprint. These will relate to chemical product innovation for circularity; water efficiency and water recycling in tanning processes, as well as treatment and reduction of air emissions from tannery sites.
