Plans for Pakistan-China donkey hides joint venture raise concerns

Despite a ban in exports, the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northwest Pakistan, has plans to export 80,000 live donkeys to China, where demand for ‘ejiao’ is rising. The animals are said to support millions of poor Pakistanis with agriculture and transport.
