The international tanning Group has started the construction of its second facility in Vietnam, expected to be completed by the end of 2019.

Covering an area 28,500 sq m, ISA TanTec’s new facility in the Tay Ninh Province will comprise numerous buildings, including a manufacturing plant, wastewater treatment plant, dormitory, canteen and parking lots. The construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2019. Uwe Hutzler, CEO, ISA TanTec, said the Group’s second tannery in Vietnam is strategically located, with a close geographical proximity to its existing tannery in Binh Duong Province and to the Ho Chi Minh City business hub.

“While adopting best sustainable practices from the existing tanneries, the floor layout of the new tannery is set up by following Lean principles, based on a study led by Porsche Consulting and ISA. Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) will be implemented from the beginning stage to collect smart data which lays the foundation for ISA Industry 4.0 approach”, said Tiago Horn, COO Asia, ISA TanTec.

Ultimately, the new tannery is expected to create 1,000 jobs.
