Bridge of Weir, part of the Scottish Leather Group are recruiting for a Leather Cutting Operations Manager at their tannery in Scotland.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an exceptional Leather Cutting Operations Manager to join the team at Bridge of Weir Leather Company Limited. You will be working within the Leather Cutting Division (LCD) and will help the cutting operations in delivering excellence every time.

You will be reporting to the LCD Manager and will drive continuous improvement within the cutting division. You will quickly gain gravitas through demonstrating expert knowledge, problem solving skills and will have the ability to implement changes that deliver results first time.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Supporting the LCD Manager to achieve the division’s strategy
  • Reporting yields for all programs on a daily, weekly and quarterly basis
  • Maximising yield within the leather cutting division
  • Continually assessing current production methods, ensuring best practices in terms of nesting and marking are being followed at all times
  • Detailed and comprehensive knowledge of all customer natural feature guides (NFG’s)
  • Supporting the quality department with supply chain issues relating to cutting projects
  • Driving high performance, consistency and ownership by ensuring ‘best practice’ is shared across the function and becomes part of our DNA
  • Creating and providing reports and supporting the LCD Manager in preparing board reports

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level or comparable practical experience
  • Excellent up to date technical skills
  • Effective leadership skills – can quickly gain credibility and respect of team
  • Can-do, will-do attitude, leads by example, has ability to motivate and inspire team
  • Is commercially focused – understands return on investment.
