Volvo Cars’ global sales up 10.2% in August

Global sales volumes for the premium automotive manufacturer increased 10.2% in August compared with the same month in 2018.

Sales in August totalled 47,796 cars, with volume growth recorded in the U.S. (+2.5%), China (+24.8%) and Europe (+11.5%). Between January and August, Volvo Cars’ total sales reached 443,168 cars, up 7.6% year-on-year. According to the manufacturer, there was strong demand for its SUVs led by the XC60, and followed by the XC40 and the XC90. The company’s latest models such as the U.S.-built S60 sedan, V60 estate and V60 Cross Country are also said to have contributed to the increased volumes.
