Owned by the BMW automotive Group, the luxury car manufacturer delivered 25% more cars in 2019 compared with the previous year.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars said it has delivered a historic annual sales record in 2019, with a total of 5,152 cars delivered in over 50 countries, up 25% on the previous high set in 2018 when 4,107 units were sold and with the Cullinan, the brand’s new SUV, making a major contribution to sales growth. According to the manufacturer, the Black Badge continues to enjoy strong demand, particularly amongst younger clients, as well as the Phantom, Wraith, Dawn and Ghost (in its final year of production) models.
“This performance is of an altogether different magnitude to any previous year’s sales success”, said Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. “While we celebrate these remarkable results, we are conscious of our key promise to our customers, to keep our brand rare and exclusive.” The company reported significant sales growth in every one of its key global markets. North America retained top status, around a third of global sales, followed by China and Europe (including UK). Individual countries that achieved strong sales results included Russia, Singapore, Japan, Australia, Qatar and Korea.
With 50 new jobs created in 2019 to meet expanded global demand, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars said that a new two-storey development, due for completion in the first quarter of 2020, will add more than 1,000 sq m to the ground floor Assembly Hall at its Goodwood facility in the UK, and create additional first-floor office space.
