Mercedes-Benz said it has surpassed, for the first time, the milestone of 600,000 passenger cars sold from October to December 2019, and completed the best quarter of all times in terms of sales with 614,319 units (+3.2%). The premium car manufacturer said it increased unit sales in all three of its main markets; China, Germany and the U.S, with China as the main driver (+6.2%) of growth. “The ninth consecutive record year underscores once more the strong demand for Mercedes-Benz vehicles, even amidst far-reaching changes in the mobility landscape. According to Mercedes-Benz, every fourth unit sold in 2019 was a compact car. More than 667,000 units of the A- and B-Class, CLA, CLA Shooting Brake, GLA and GLB were delivered in the year (+9.5%), representing an increase of more than 30,000-unit sales when compared to the prior record established in 2016.
