The organisers of the Asian Pacific Leather Fair (APLF), to be held in Hong Kong March 31 – April 2, have published a statement on the Coronavirus outbreak as cases top 7,000.

Headquartered in Hong Kong with major offices in China, organisers Informa Markets said it continues to monitor the developments of the Novel Coronavirus which first emerged from Wuhan, China in December of 2019. “The safety of our staff and customers is always our top priority. As such, we are taking precautions and safety measures as recommended by the local Departments of Health in Hong Kong and China as well as the World Health Organisation (WHO) seriously”, says a statement. “As the developments of the Coronavirus further materialise, rest assured we shall also update our plans and communications with stakeholders.”

So far, international media have reported that 170 people have died of the virus, which is thought to have originated in a seafood market where wildlife is also sold illegally, and more than 7,711 cases have been confirmed worldwide.
