Timberland to plant trees to compensate for slower deliveries

Published:  02 March, 2020

The leather footwear and lifestyle brand is offering to plant a tree every time an online customer chooses to have orders delivered within a longer period of time.

The programme offered by Timberland, owned by VF Corp, has been effective since August 2019 and is said to be in line with the brand’s commitment to plant 50 million trees by 2025. Timberland offers to plant a tree when a customer opts to have items delivered in four to eight days versus the standard three days. Reportedly, acceptance has averaged about 14% and resulted in about 55,000 tree plantings so far.
