Reddington to step down at USHSLA

John Reddington, President of the United States Hide, Skin and Leather Association (USHSLA) has announced that he is to retire at the end of year. Reddington is also President of the International Council of Hides, Skins and Leather Traders Association (ICHSLTA) where he will also step down.

John has been President of USHSLA since October 2002 and will be replaced by Stephen Sothmann, the current Director of International Affairs of USHSLA and the American Meat Institute. He will take over from John Reddington on January 1, 2014.

"John has expanded the recognition of USHSLA, establishing relationships with government and private sector organisations to enhance the ability of the association to carry out its functions", said Mike Larson, Chairman of the USHSLA Board of Directors and Senior Director, International Hides and Leather Sales, Tyson Fresh Meats. "Today, USHSLA is recognised worldwide as the voice of the US hide industry."

Sothmann joined USHSLA in August 2011 and has a master in business adminstration and a law degree from Indiana University and has worked on Capitol Hill for various US senators and congressmen.
