The British luxury car manufacturer has announced it is suspending production at the company’s Goodwood, UK, manufacturing plant.
Effective March 23, Rolls-Royce said it will be suspending car production from March 23 for two weeks, following the introduction of additional measures by the UK Government to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic. “In order to further secure the health and welfare of the employees of the company, this suspension will be followed by an already-planned two-week Easter maintenance shutdown”, said the manufacturer.
The day-to-day operations of the company is to be assured by non-production employees, who are to remain at work at its head office in Goodwood, or who will work from home on a rotational basis. Social distancing measures have been introduced throughout the company.
