Just like rival Hermès, which announced it was temporarily closing down its 42 production sites in France, the luxury French label has announced it is also stopping production due to the COVID-19 spread.

Chanel is reported to have shut down of all its factories in France, Italy and Switzerland for the next two weeks. “In the interest of public health, and out of concern for the safety and well-being of our employees and clients,” the company said in a statement. Just like Gucci, Versace, Max Mara, and Hermès, the French luxury label has also cancelled its fashion show due to take place in Capri, Italy, in May.
