Chile’s footwear and automotive industry under pressure

If Chile produced 35.7 million pairs of shoes in 1991, this figure had already declined to 5 million in 2017. All industry sectors combined, Chile has recorded a 6.5% drop in exports in March, while imports contracted 18.6%.
