The announcement follows the General Assembly of the Association of Footwear, Leather goods and Tannery Machinery Manufacturers (Assomac) held on November 25, which also appointed a new President for the 2020 – 2024 term.

Assomac announced that the 2021 edition of the international trade show dedicated to machinery and technology for the tannery, footwear and finished leather goods sectors has been rescheduled for the second half of 2021. “Postponing the exhibition dates is a proactive action to face the global challenges posed by Covid-19, which would have considerably affected the visitors, particularly those coming from outside the EU”, said Assomac, adding that they have yet to identify favourable dates to hold the event to “guarantee the safest conditions for all participants and ensure the best business opportunities”. Assomac also said they would be present in the upcoming exhibitions related to the sector, such as Lineapelle, which are scheduled to take place March 20 – 24 at in Milan, with an “institutional exhibition solution, which will hopefully offer a suitable opportunity to meet visitors and to keep the Simac Tanning Tech community connected.”

During the Assembly, Assomac also apppointed Maria Vittoria Brustia from footwear machinery specialists Brustia Alfameccanica as the new President. Read more here.
