After closing down its social media in Western markets, the Kering-owned luxury fashion label shut down its accounts in Asia on February 24.
Bottega Veneta closed down its Weibo account, where it has around 270,000 followers, as well as other social media feeds last week. According to U.S. media WWD, François-Henri Pinault, Chairman and CEO, Kering, recently indicated that the company’s move was not dissimilar to that of Balenciaga, which posts what appear to be user-generated images without captions on its Instagram account since 2018. In January, Bottega Veneta abruptly shut down its accounts on various social media platforms, such as Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Read more here.
