Italy’s footwear turnover, production and exports down in 2020

The latest figures from Confindustria Moda Research Centre for Assocalzaturifici (the Italian Footwear Manufacturers’ Association) show that in 2020 the Italian footwear industry saw a 25.2% decrease in turnover to €10.72 billion, a 27.1% fall in production to 130.5 million pairs of shoes, and a drop in exports by 14.7% in value and 17.4% in volume as a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic.
