Consensus among exhibitors and visitors attending the latest edition of Lineapelle show on the opening day on September 10 was that the event is a major improvement on the previous editions held in Bologna. The exhibition space and layout is much better and Milan is an easier city in which to do business.
"The first day has been positive and we have received many visitors. A few comments have been made by our customers that the new show dates maybe a little early and too close to Micam and Mipel but it is very difficult to make everyone happy", Lara Toscana, Marketing Manager, Gruppo Mastrotto told ILM.
Gruppo Mastrotto are of the largest tanners in Italy and its stand was busy. The company was also highlighting its new Mastrotto Express service from its stand. Many Italian tanners in particular had impressive stands and beautiful displays of their leathers. Visually the new look Milan fair looks impressive.
The number of visitors attending the fair could best be described as 'steady' there was a reasonable number on the first day but not the masses seen at the show 10 years ago.
The tanneries occupy three large halls (11, 13, 15) of the Fiera Milan Rho show grounds with componets and fabrics, accessories occupying a further two halls and synthetics in hall 9. The trend selection area is situated outside the halls in a separate area.
The first Milan edition of Lineapelle covers a surface area of 42,000 sq m and features 1123 exhibitors who are highlighting collections for Autumn/Winter 2015-16 season. "For us so far Milan has been a success. It is a much better layout and the number of visitors that we have received all day has been good", Amjad Hafeez, Director, Muhammad Shafi Tanneries explained to ILM.
