Over 700 exhibitors from 30 countries and territories are participating at the 19th edition of the three-day event, including from Brazil, China, Germany, the U.S., India, Italy, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, and Turkey, showcasing chemicals, machinery and technologies for shoe manufacturers and tanners, leather and other materials, shoe components and accessories, and finished products among others.

Organised by Lefaso (Vietnam Leather and Footwear Association) and Hong Kong based exhibition organiser Top Repute, the trade show is hosting 34 companies from India’s Council for Leather Exports (CLE), 29 Italian producers of machinery and chemicals, and eight Brazilian companies attending the event with the support of the Brazilian Centre for the Tanning Industry (CICB).

Several seminars on the latest technologies and fashion for the leather and footwear sector are scheduled over the three days, and the event expects to attract over 15,000 visitors.

Leather and footwear are among Vietnam’s key export items, worth US$16.2 billion in 2016. The figure is expected to reach US$18 billion this year.
