Held at the Expo Centre in Lahore on January 27-29, the show was officially inaugurated by Punjab Governor, Muhammad Rafique Rajwana, and the Federal Minister for Commerce, Khurram Dastagir.

Several leather associations are present at the event, including Pakistan Leather Garments Manufacturers & Exporter Association (PLGMEA), Pakistan Gloves Manufacturers & Exporters Association (PGMEA), Pakistan Footwear Manufacturers Association (PFMA) and the Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA).

Speaking during a press conference on January 25, Waseem Zakaria, Chairman of PFMA, said the exhibition will portray and improve the image of Pakistan at a world level, and motivate leather business entrepreneurs for growth. “This exhibition will also enhance confidence of investors in Pakistan’s markets”, said Zakaria.

He also asked the Government to make efforts to help both the footwear and leather industries, highlighting the problems being faced by the footwear industry in particular.

A number of seminars, fashion shows as well as a musical evening have been planned during the exhibition.
