Perundurai SIPCOT to be closed following environmental violations

Following the potential legal action against a plant in Perundarai, a town in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, which is run by tannery units functioning at the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT) Industrial Growth Centre, as reported by ILM, the Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) has directed officials to close the Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP).
