Now in its fifth year, the 2020 event builds on the success of previous editions and is aimed at tanners from across the automotive leather segment, OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers. High-profile experts representing the whole automotive leather supply chain will shine the spotlight on cutting edge innovations and technologies, design, market and consumer trends as well as latest environmental breakthroughs and sustainability developments.

This year the format of the conference has been expanded and will include a longer programme featuring a host of high-profile speakers, a buffet lunch and extended networking sessions, and will culminate in a ca. 90 to 120 minute complementary tour of the impressive Porsche Museum – widely considered an architectural masterpiece and one of the most spectacular car museums in the world – showcasing over 80 vehicles and giving delegates the opportunity to delve deeper into the history and philosophy of this iconic leather-using brand.

Confirmed speakers include Jo Lewis, Colour & Materials Design Manager from sportscar brand McLaren Automotive and Emanuel Martonca, Sales Manager at leather technology supplier Thagora, which works with some or the biggest names in the automotive and aerospace sectors.

The day’s agenda is set to feature a diversity of topics and industry speakers, including CASE (Connected, autonomous, shared, electric) and the new requirements on automotive interior design; lightweight seating and the demands on leather suppliers; the rise in SUVs and e-mobility and the threats and opportunities for operators in the automotive leather supply chain; sustainable leather production; integrated functionality and the latest technological innovations in automotive leather as well as key trends in leather interior design. All presentations will be held in English and more details on the speaker line-up and topics will be announced in the coming weeks and updated on the events section of the ILM website.
