According to Abicalçados (the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association), the 26 Brazilian brands present at the event generated US$925,600 in immediate business. They expect this figure to reach US$10.1 million in the next 6 months. Sales volume doubled compared to their participation at IFLS last year, US$500 million.

The first participation of five Brazilian shoe brands in Colombiamoda, Colombia’s Fashion Week which took place in Medellin at the same time as IFLS, in the form of a “Pop Up Showroom” also had a positive outcome, generating US$410,000 in immediate business. They expect another US$575,000 in sales by the end of the year.

The exhibitors said the “matchmaking” service set up by the organisers was very efficient to make new contacts. Some of the brands had never worked with Colombian buyers before and were satisfied with the visitors’ profiles.
