The Brazilian leather export figures have been released following two major promotions of Brazilian leather in Asia during late March and early April. APLF MM&T (March 31 – April 2), in Hong Kong, and the Brazilian Leather Showroom, in Seoul, South Korea.

José Fernando Bello, Executive President of CICB says, “Hong Kong and Seoul confirmed the positive moment Brazilian leather is going through, reaching a standard of excellence regarding domestic and international demands.”

Both initiatives had the coordination of the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) and support from Brazilian Leather, a project of CICB and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) for the promotion of leather exports.

In Hong Kong, at APLF MM&T, Brazil was the Focus Country, therefore promoting a series of communications and marketing actions specially planned to engage Brazilian tanneries and its target audience.

In Seoul, a two-day Brazilian Leather Showroom was established and promoted at a press conference with local press. A buyer-seller matchmaking event also took place between selected buyers and five Brazilian tanneries. The CICB also presented awards to Hongik University students who, in collaboration with CICB, designed a collection of handbags made from Brazilian leather.
