Founder and creative director Sabyasachi Mukherjee told The Economic Times that the brand is “aggressively building” its small leather goods offering, including wallets, which he expects to become an important business. Women’s and men’s footwear will follow the launch of the brand’s first fragrance, which is expected within the next 18 months.

The expansion forms part of Sabyasachi’s ambition to build what Mukherjee describes as India’s first global luxury lifestyle brand. The brand reported revenue of INR 6.5 billion (US$68 million) in financial year 2026, with jewellery accounting for around 33% of turnover. Its accessories business is expected to exceed INR 1 billion (US$10 million) this year.

Mukherjee said leather accessories and international ready-to-wear are becoming increasingly important to the business, while the brand is also expanding its eyewear offering. Sabyasachi already sells handbags and belts through its accessories business.

The company has also moved into new manufacturing facilities in Kolkata over the past year, with investment focused on increasing capacity, product development and supporting its artisan network. Sabyasachi currently operates retail locations in Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and New York.
