Luther, who previously worked for Bosca, plans to establish a local manufacturing and retail presence in the city of Springfield, Ohio. She said the acquisition marks the start of a new growth phase for the heritage brand while preserving its core values.

“Bosca has always stood for craftsmanship, integrity and care. Values that first drew me to the brand years ago and will continue to guide every decision as this new journey progresses,” Luther said. “My goal is to honour what makes Bosca special while thoughtfully growing the business, supporting our people, and investing in the community that helped build this company.”

Bosca will launch a multiphase growth plan under Luther’s leadership, including revitalising its Springfield manufacturing footprint, expanding product categories and modernising operations. Through a JobsOhio-supported initiative beginning in the third quarter of 2026, Bosca plans to refresh and reopen portions of its factory, creating 25 new jobs in production and sales. Renovation of the site is scheduled to begin in January 2026, with hiring expected to start in March 2026, and production targeted for May or June 2026.

The company is also partnering with the City of Springfield and the Small Business Development Center to support workforce training, skills development and long-term economic growth in the region.

In addition to restarting local production, Luther plans to strengthen Bosca’s men’s leather goods business and expand into women’s accessories through a new product line. The company will also invest in retail partnerships with department stores including Dillard’s, Von Maur and Nordstrom, supported by upgraded inventory management systems, improved customer service and new ordering and stock-management programmes.

“We are known for selling the highest quality men’s accessories on the market and we look forward to bringing that level of craftsmanship to the ladies’ handbag market,” Luther said.

Luther has spent roughly half her career as a business owner and half in human resources. She began working in the handbag department at Macy’s before founding and later selling her own HR consulting firm. She subsequently supported Bosca’s HR operations, where discussions with former owner Chris Bosca, the fourth-generation family leader, eventually led to her acquiring the company.

“Chris has expressed strong confidence in Amy’s abilities and her authentic passion for the leather goods category, noting that she is well-positioned to uphold and advance the legacy his family has built,” the company said in a statement.
