The inaugural edition of the Sustainable Leather Forum was held in September 2019 and was attended by almost 300 leather professionals who discussed the topics developed by around 30 French and international speakers, representing a diverse panel of companies, from SMEs to large groups, as well as international institutions such as the European Commission, the United Nations and the OECD. Speakers from luxury names such as Kering, Louis Vuitton and Hermès also took the opportunity to present their latest developments in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

The CNC said it is, once again, bringing together professionals from across the leather supply chain, including from the footwear, gloving/garment and leather goods segments at the headquarters of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council of France (CESE) in Paris on September 14. “This will be the opportunity for leather sector professionals to discuss the impact and the evolutions in CSR from a social, environmental and economic perspective and offer a first assessment of the progress made by all professions in achieving CSR goals”, said the CNC. Topics on this year’s agenda will include consumer protection, animal welfare and the circular economy. Round tables and talks will be organised around the quality of finished goods, innovation and best practices in the sector.
