The 41st edition of Couromoda – the international shoe, leather goods and accessories fair – took place from January 13 – 16 at the Anhembi Pavilion in São Paulo. The fair, acknowledged as the most important event for footwear and leather goods in Latin America, brought together 1,100 exhibiting companies and opened the business season for the Brazilian industry of shoes, bags and sports goods.

With the launch of 2,000 collections of women’s, men’s and children’s products, sports goods and accessories, the fair sets the tone for the leading trends for the Autumn/Winter (Southern Hemisphere) and mid-season, and hosted storeowners from all over Brazil, as well as importers from over 60 countries.

During the four days it was estimated that 35% of the annual sales of the footwear industry were signed and sealed by exhibitors at the fair, which represents production centres in 13 Brazilian states and accounts for 90% of the industry’s production.

The largest fashion, business and networking event of the Brazilian footwear and leather goods industry, Couromoda is also a benchmark for international buyers. Taking up the entire exhibition area at the Anhembi complex, the fair showcases new launches for buyers in all product and price ranges, from exclusive lines with selective distribution, to high-volume collections.

Each edition registers 80,000 professional visitors, especially storeowners, fashion product distributors, industrialists and footwear chain professions.
