Professor Dr Scholz said in his appointment speech that the scientific interchange between the University and industry goes both ways and is an essential part of developing a clean environmental future for the leather industry.

Dr Scholz will develop novel environmental technologies for recycling as well as for effluent, solid waste and emission treatment as part of a research cooperation with the University of Sichuan.

The focus of his research will be to develop energy efficient technologies to solve environmental issues and to improve the environmental performance and reduce the carbon footprint of the Chinese leather Industry.
