Total Italian leather goods exports have declined 1.19% to €2.6 billion in the first five months of 2016, with the U.S. recording a -11.75% drop in the period, to just over €227 million.

On the other hand, exports to Russia increased 4.77% to over €42 million, and Hong Kong, the third most important destination for Italian leather goods after France and Switzerland, also registered a positive growth in the period (+4.79%).

Mipel, to be held on September 3-6, 2016 in Milan, Italy, will showcase the products from 300 companies. Over 12,000 international visitors are expected to attend.
