The footwear exhibitors showcased their Autumn/Winter 2017-18 collections by sectors covering a surface area of around 9,000 sq m at the IFEMA-Feria de Madrid. The Urban & Young collections (novelties in urban, sports and trend footwear) were showcased in Hall 5, while the ‘Casual’, (featuring leisure, urban, physiological and comfort wear collections), and the ‘Contemporary’ (craft and material care-based collections following the latest trends in international footwear) were both displayed in Hall 7.

This edition’s ‘Sustainable Fashion’, which has managed to consolidate itself as an independent feature at the show, showcased benchmarks brands in this area such as El Naturalista, Kayak Storm, Lofs, Suela, Laloba.

Also in Hall 5 the ‘Slow Fashion Next’ space was set up, where ‘Slow Fashion Living Workshops’ were organised; a training and informative platform on sustainable fashion in Spain and Latin America, which aimed at raising awareness among visitors and exhibitors about this emerging trend. Key product concepts and their value to the end consumer were discussed. Participants could also experience the sustainable products that are already available on the market.

Responding to the economic trends of the Spanish footwear industry, which seeks to target new markets beyond the EU, MOMAD Shoes organised a buyers’ programme which attracted around 40 international representatives of large stores and multi-brand chains from the Middle East and Latin America to this edition.
