Austin Davidsen, Senior Manager – Leather Sourcing, adidas Group will join the panel which will take place the day before the All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE).
The adidas Group has identified SPEED to market as a key strategy for the future. They seek to reduce production lead times and look to partners at Tier-1 and Tier-2 levels, which includes tanners, to work proactively and cooperatively to minimise the time between order placement and ex-tannery date.
“We also expect our partner tanneries will operate to world class environmental standards, and implement controls that minimise energy use, water consumption, and waste discharge. We are very focused on automation to the extent it is meaningful in leather – through auto-cutting, material handling, and leather making”, explains Austin Davidsen.
He will expand on these topics and debate the tannery of the future with a panel of other leading industry experts covering the leather supply chain.
Confirmed panellists:
- Mike Redwood: Co-ordinator of LeatherNaturally!
- Austin Davidsen: Senior Manager – Leather Sourcing – adidas Group

- Mike Larson: VP of Hide and Tannery sales, Tyson.
