Stahl is a leading company in chemicals for leather products and performance coatings for all kind of materials. The company has now taken over all activities of Clariant’s Leather Services Business, including manufacturing sites in Germany, Italy and India and laboratories in several other locations. Next to that, approximately 570 Clariant employees entered into Stahl’s employment. Following the acquisition, Stahl now covers the entire leather processing chain.
With more than 1,800 employees at 11 manufacturing sites and 38 laboratories in 23 countries, Stahl is expected to realise an annual turnover of over €600 million. “Thanks to the acquisition, we have become the leading market player in chemicals for leather products in terms of knowledge, expertise and range of technical solutions”, said Huub van Beijeren, CEO of Stahl. “As we expanded our market and product coverage, we are able to boost our innovation power, sustainability expertise and service levels. This enables us to respond even better to our clients’ needs.”
Sustainability is one of the key topics in the leather industry. “Now that we have combined our forces, we are accelerating the process of making the entire leather processing chain more sustainable”, said van Beijeren.
