A total of 34 Brazilian footwear brands took part in the commercial mission held on June 5-7 in Moscow. According to Abicalçados, the Brazilian Footwear Manufacturers’ Association, around 300 business contacts were made with international buyers, of which many new. The trade mission expects to generate around US$4.12 million in business over the next few months.

“This 5th mission has exceeded our expectations in terms of numbers of participating brands and local visitors. It was an unprecedented partnership between Apex-Brasil (the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) office in Moscow, the Brazilian Embassy and Abicalçados”, said Renata Ramos, Project Manager, Abicalçados, adding that a Russian company helped organise ‘matchmaking’ meetings.

A showroom was organised at the Courtyard Marriot Hotel in the Russian capital, where over 70 retailers and wholesalers expressed their interest in working with Brazilian brands.
