No plans for PALF in 2022

Speaking at virtual press conference, APLF Ltd Director Grace Lee told ILM that they currently had no plans to host the inaugural edition of the Pan African Leather Fair (PALF) in 2022.


The future should be Africa

One thing which is certain in the world of geopolitics and demographics is that the population of Africa is set to grow rapidly. Having been held back by Aids, Africa has a very young population, and numbers are set to accelerate dramatically over the coming years. For reasons that are not well understood but may have to do with the age profile, the pandemic has not had a great direct impact and hopes are that richer countries will provide some access to vaccines before a new, more powerful wave can arrive.


Malawi losing out on leather exports

The Leather Industries Association of Malawi (LIAMA) has stated that every year, the country loses US$100 million in exportation of leather products without any value addition, according to The Southern Times Africa.
