The Leather Working Group has put deforestation free leather as one of its key objectives and is working collaboratively with NGOs such as the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) and World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF) on achieving this goal. Limited traceability and exposure to deforestation will therefore start to negatively impact its scoring.
