Canadian total bovine slaughter rises in the first half of 2019

Canadian cattle slaughter proceeded at a good pace in S1 2019, showing a 3.7% increase compared with the same period of 2018. This growth, like in many other beef producing countries, was propelled by the improved exports of meat, both in quantity (about 217,000 tonnes, +17%) and value (about CA$1.6 billion, +28%).
