Brazilian footwear exports decline 66% in May

The collateral effects of the Covid-19 pandemic continue to impact the Brazilian footwear sector, with international shipments in May down 64.7% in volume and 66% in value compared with the same month in 2019.

U.S. and China beef access deal agreed

The U.S. administration announced on June 12 details of the agreement with the Chinese government to resume imports of U.S. beef. The deal allows for qualified beef products produced after May 24, 2017, to be exported to China once a plant is approved by USDA as eligible to export to China. It represents the final step needed before U.S. beef exports reach China for the first time in nearly 14 years.

Brazilian footwear exports exceed expectations in May

Total footwear exports increased both in volume and in value in May 2017 compared with the same month last year, but still reflect transactions carried out at the end of 2016 when exchange rates were more favourable when fixing prices.
