Transport leaders demand supply chain security

In an open letter published by the International Chamber of Shipping, associations and corporate leaders from throughout the global transport industry have come together to call for governments to ensure the free movement of transport workers, end travel bans and remove restrictions that continue to impact the industry.


Cotance issues open letter against Pinatex award nomination

Cotance has penned an open letter to the European Patent Office (EPO) in response to the inclusion of Piñatex, a material made from waste pineapple fibres, in a contest for the European Inventor Award organised by the EPO, where the Piñatex-patent is registered. Carmen Hijosa, founder of Piñatex, is a finalist and the public vote takes place June 17, 2021. The letter focuses on the sustainability of leather and refutes the promotion of Piñatex as a leather alternative.


ICT responds to Mini’s decision to ditch leather seats

The International Council of Tanners (ICT) has responded to carmaker Mini’s decision to discontinue leather in its interior offer. In the letter, Dr Kerry Senior, Secretary, ICT, expressed his disappointment and asked the automotive manufacturer to reconsider the decision.
