Is brands’ recycling effort no more than lip service?

For a while now fashion retailers such as Marks & Spencer in the UK, Swedish fashion giant H&M, Spanish headquartered chain Zara or U.S. brands such as North Face or Eileen Fisher, to name just a few, have been offering take-back programmes of used clothing. 


UNIC promotes authentic leather at Lineapelle

UNIC, the Italian Tanners’ Association, has hosted promotional space at Lineapelle in Milan this week to promote Italian made leather. As well as a stand in the main concourse at the show, the three leather marks were promoted on exhibition stands inside the exhibitions halls. 


Not so perfect leather – Yes please!

JBS Couros from Brazil recently promoted its use of imperfect leather at Lineapelle called ‘Scarface’. Putting the emphasis on the scratches, ticks, horn marks, brands etc. as proof that it is really a natural product. I have always been in favour of such initiatives and think it offers possibilities for leather, which have often been underestimated, neglected or even opposed.
