Thinking outside of the drum

For a number of years there was a poster hanging in a corridor in what is today the headquarters of Eurofins | BLC in Northampton, UK. The image on the poster, which is no doubt rotting in landfill somewhere today, has a very much younger and fresh faced version of myself as lab technician, conducting pilot plant trials on the Krause HS Penetrator inside the pilot plant of BLC.

I feel fortunate to have worked for the Booth Group and to be able to call myself a “Booth Man”. Sadly, I was involved towards the end of this company, which for over 100 hundred exciting years became one of the biggest and most global tanning histories ever, along with a key role in getting chrome tanning commercialised worldwide.
