Tough times for Uttar Pradesh tanners

According to local media reports a sombre mood prevails among the tanners of Uttar Pradesh these days. Pollution problems and months of long lockdowns over two consecutive years have adversely affected the leather industry in the state. The tanneries are also reported to be losing business to neighbouring Bangladesh.
