Traceability to support “conscious spending”

The 3rd World Leather Congress (WLC) that took place in Shanghai on August 29 seems a long way off now. During that warm, late summer day, a record 600+ people from the global leather industry gathered to listen to some very interesting (and some less interesting) presentations about the current and future directions in which the industry is headed. One key theme was mentioned again and again throughout the day; the need for greater levels of transparency and traceability in the leather supply chain. This subject has now moved towards the top of the industry’s agenda alongside environmental sustainability.

OEM and tier-1 supplier join panel to discuss the future of leather in cars

Around 170 delegates attended the opening day of the 3rd Freiberg Leather Days conference in the Eastern German town of Freiberg. The main theme of the two-day conference taking place July 2-3 is "Leather up to date". The focus of the presentations on day 1 was on sustainability.
