Tyson Foods aims for net-zero GHG by 2050

The U.S. meatpacker has announced its ambition to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across its global operations and supply chain by 2050. This and the release of the company’s fiscal year 2020 Sustainability Progress Report underscores its commitment to combatting the growing climate crisis.

Tyson becomes first meat company to join cattle traceability program

The beef and pork subsidiary of Tyson Foods has joined a cattle disease traceability program called U.S. CattleTrace, making Tyson the first beef processor to join the program, which was formed by multiple state cattlemen’s organisations to develop a national infrastructure for animal disease traceability in the U.S. cattle industry.

Tyson’s results negatively impacted by Covid-19

Beef sales volume for the U.S. meat processor decreased in the third quarter and the first nine months of the company’s fiscal 2020 primarily due to lower production and a reduction in live cattle harvest capacity.
