Cargill and ZELP partner to tackle methane emissions in cattle

The global food, agricultural, financial and industrial products company, Cargill, and Zero Emission Livestock Project (ZELP) have partnered to provide European dairy farmers with a solution to reduce methane emissions, combining technology in methane oxidation and data processing to minimise the environmental impact of dairy production while improving animal welfare.

Tanneries face potential legal action for illegally discharging effluents

A plant in Perundarai, a town in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, which is run by tannery units functioning at the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT) Industrial Growth Centre, has been discharging effluents into a defunct oxidation pond. The District Environmental Engineer of the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) has recommended legal action against the Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP).
