The claim was made by the Chairman Pakistan Tanners’ Association (PTA) South Zone, Fawad Jawed while talking to the association’s members while referring to many incidences of street crime and robberies in the Tannery Zone in the past.

The PTA South Zone then finally resorted for CPLC’s privately assisted system of surveillance and neighbourhood watch where the PTA member tanneries in the area have funded surveillance in the local area with the initial budget of Rs4 million (US$40,550) and purchased vehicles, motorbikes and hired private guards. He said that the local police and Rangers have fully supported the PTA and have provided patrols and mobile vans to strengthen the CPLC-NC surveillance.

Fawad supported and praised the role of the Rangers in fostering peace in the area and the entire city.
