Held at the BSNL Ground in Agra, the fair organised by the Agra Footwear Manufacturers and Exporters Chamber (AFMEC) was inaugurated by Arjun Ram, the Union Minister of State in Finance and Corporate affairs. It hosted around 200 exhibitors, from both India and abroad, over a surface area of 6,000 sq m.

The fair showcased leather, footwear components and machinery. Seminars were organised and a fashion show was followed by a gala dinner. Around 8,000 visitors were expected to attend the three-day event.

Agra represents the biggest footwear manufacturing hub in India, catering for about 65% of the total domestic requirement and it holds a 30% share of the country’s total exports of leather footwear.
